The Empty Space in your Heart
This is a blog of how to overcome temptations. I am not sure whether I am fit to write this particular blog as I still fall in temptations at times. But one thing is for sure - it is the choice that you make - whether you overcome or fall in temptations.
I learnt this from the book - Battlefield of the Mind by JOYCE MEYER.
From one of her chapters she wrote about how to overcome and win the battle with temptations, she indicated this 'space' - space that we choose what we want to fill it with. Of course there are only 2 things in general that we can fill this space with. Good or Bad. Many times we chose to fill the space with bad things and that is why we ended up falling in the temptations Satan set for us.
If we make use of this space in our heart and fill it with Good things, I believe we can overcome all temptations easily. But unfortunately, many chose not to. That is why many Christians have been 'dragged' down by these temptations which include money, television, internet, games, pornography and more.
So we must learn how to let go of this Bad things and be willing to let the Good things fill the empty spaces in our heart. This means letting the words of God be filled in it and nothing more. This is because the word of God is what we, possessing the sinful nature in us, needs.
Most of you might not notice, we kept sinning unknowingly everyday and every moment might be the cause of this 'space' in our heart being filled with filthy things all along.
So, brothers and sisters, it is time to repent.
