BMT graduation parade
Just before the start of the graduation parade, we had a brief rehearsal which was led by our school sergeant major(SSM) (a late 20s to early 30s guy). Yes, he was fierce and was never satisfied with all our rehearsals till today. After the brief rehearsal, he gathered the whole lot of us under the shade and start chatting with us - for the last time before we left the island in 2 hours time. He was speaking in a microphone all along and suddenly, he used his palm and covered the microphone and asked, "Who is a Christian here?"
Quite a fair bit of us raised up our hands and I really thank God for that. Despite the remaining unbelievers, our SSM said in a loving tone, "All the Christians here, let us pray to our God, your God (he was referring to the unbelievers) for a fine weather and for everyone..." And there he goes leading the prayer in front of an approximately 1800 people. What a great courage that God has given this SSM of ours. But of course there were some whispers here and there from the unbelievers complaining about SSM. It was normal for a Christian then to be persecuted when we do what is right in His eyes. I was expecting anyway and I thank God for our SSM somehow, indirectly, sow a seed in each and everyone there - A seed of Christ's testimonial.
The parade went well throughout. Although we all stood under the scorching sun, I thanked God for we were not standing under a wet weather. Anyway I took some photo with my platoon and section mates as well so please Enjoy!
